Patna University Computer Centre was
established in the year 1987 and was inaugurated by
then Governor & Chancellor of Universities of Bihar.
The Centre was established in order to meet the needs
of the University, its Colleges, Departments, Institutes
and Other Educational Institutions as well as the economic
and planning departments etc. of the State Govt. of
Bihar. It helps the institutions engaged in research
in different disciplines. It provides access to a good
central facility in the field of research, planning
and training. The centre was re-established
on 16th April, 2007 by then Vice Chancellor of the Patna
University.It has started Post Graduate
Diploma in Computer Application (PGDCA) course from
the session 2008-09. P.G. Diploma in Bio-Informatics
and Master in Computer Application (MCA) are likely
to be introduced from next academic session. It conducts
three weeks computer training programme for teachers
& staff of the university.It conducts
computer awareness and educational courses. It is the
prestigious centre of the Patna University
- 7th oldest University of the Indian subcontinent,
which was established in the year 1917.
